Barrister Ryan Cushley has been elected as chair of the Employment Attorneys Group Northern Eire (ELGNI).
The group held its AGM yesterday, the place Mr Cushley was elected alongside vice-chair Emma McIlveen, secretary Sarah Cochrane, treasurer Aisling Byrne and different committee members.
The occasion, which passed off on a hybrid foundation at Regulation Society Home, was preceded by a chat facilitated by outgoing ELGNI chair Orlagh O’Neill with Eileen McBride CBE, former president of the Industrial and Honest Employment Tribunal for Northern Eire.
Commenting on his election, Mr Cushley informed Irish Authorized Information: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as chair of the Employment Attorneys Group Northern Eire.
“I’ve been a member of the ELGNI committee since Might 2017, initially because the junior bar member, then as an odd committee member. The main target of the committee over the previous two years has primarily been the consequences of the pandemic on the Tribunals in Northern Eire.
“On this regard we now have met and corresponded frequently with the judiciary and the Division for the Economic system. We are going to proceed this essential work, liaising on issues affecting our members and advocating on their behalf.
“I’ve a selected curiosity in schooling and coaching, having coordinated the Employment Tribunals module on the Institute of Skilled Authorized Research since 2018. A key focus will probably be persevering with to develop our glorious programme of CPD occasions.
