Three business leaders from Northern Ireland reach the EY Entrepreneur of the Year final

EY has placed three business leaders from Northern Ireland in the finals of the 2023 EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme.

Douglas Adams of Connected Health, a healthcare facility in Northern Ireland and the Republic; David Beggs of Pure Pharmacy, a pharmacy chain; and Dr Andrew Woods of green technology company CATAGEN were named among a total of 24 finalists from across the island of Ireland.

They then participate in a 10-month “strategic growth program” where they are joined by 100 previous award finalists and winners, and spend a week at a CEO retreat in Singapore.

The finalists will also compete for a series of awards at a ceremony in November in four categories, including Emerging, Established, International and a special Sustainability Award. One of the finalists will also be named EY Entrepreneur of the Year and will represent Ireland at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ Awards in June 2024.

“We have received a record number of nominations for this year’s program and the highest number of nominations ever for female entrepreneurs, which we are delighted with,” said Rob Heron, EY Northern Ireland Managing Partner. “This year’s finalists represent a broad spectrum of industries including technology, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, consumer products and engineering to name a few.

“Our finalists come from a variety of backgrounds and communities across Northern and Southern Ireland, which showcases the island’s entrepreneurial spirit and talent.”
